When the first Hawaiians migrated north, South Point at the foot of Mauna Loa is likely the first land they saw from their double-hulled voyaging canoes. The Ka'u coastline is truly a majestic sight.

The Ka'u district, which is the southernmost area of the Big Island and the southernmost tip of the U.S, is still a real estate frontier.
