Rarely is such an exquisite oceanfront property offered on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawai'i. An estate of such tranquility, beauty and privacy, it has to be experienced to be believed. The "Buddha Walk" Estate has over 3 acres of manicured lawns and gardens, 350 feet of ocean frontage, 3 separate lots, tmk 3/6-9-9-7,8 and 9, each with their own water meter, and a dramatic 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath residence with soaring wood ceilings, a deep lanai across the full expanse of the home with rich architectural details overlooking the infinity pool and spa. Bordered on three sides by tall rock walls ensuring complete privacy, one strolls past the perfect line of fox-tail palms and plumeria trees to the magnificent welcoming gong and rich detailed 10 foot antique Chinese doors that open to this dramatic home.

Overlooking the sandy cove and tide pools to the blue Pacific and Maui beyond, one can immerse oneself in the balmy beauty of the coastline as the sunny days turn into the rich colors of the sunsets. The owners have created an estate that honors a Buddha walk anchored by dramatic boulders and gardens for meditation. Watch the spinner dolphins, winter whales and timeless vistas. The deep lanai and huge great room lend themselves to grand entertaining. Cedar ceilings, mahogany cabinets and doors, granite counters and porcelain tile throughout enhance the Asian style of this unique home.

Naupaka Place is a gated oceanfront residential enclave, with just 9 ocean font home sites, 3 being inside the walls of this estate. The "Buddha Walk" estate could be kept as an island of tranquility, expanded with additional residences to family and friends, or be developed as three separate parcels with a home on each. Located within Waikoloa Beach Resort, the area offers miles of white sand beaches, 2 golf courses, the Kings and Queens Shops with its abundant shopping, restaurants, grocery store and new multiplex movie theater.

Waikoloa Beach Resort

Moku: (South) Kohala
Ahupua‘a:  Waikoloa

In the years since real estate developer Ron Boeddeker first envisioned a resort development at ‘Anaeho‘omalu Bay and construction of what is now the Hilton Waikoloa Village began in 1986,  the lava fields of Waikoloa have changed dramatically. Today, two flagship hotels, the Hilton and the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, as well as several island-inspired condominium and timeshare developments dot this otherwise rugged Kohala Coast landscape, alongside luxury villas and private residences.

Golf enthusiasts have two courses within the resort to choose from, the Waikoloa Beach Course and the King’s Course. Shopping and dining opportunities abound, especially at the Kings’ Shops and Queens’ Marketplace, but also at venues like Lava Lava Beach Club, which offers casual oceanfront dining, and Tropics Ale House, a gathering place that has quickly become a local favorite since opening in August 2014.

In line with its spirit as an active, dynamic community, Waikoloa Resort is also known for hosting the Lavaman Triathlon, an event founded by Clark Realty agent Gerry Rott, which celebrates it’s 20th anniversary in 2016.

Each year, Waikoloa Resort welcomes thousands of residents and guests who, in addition to shopping, dining and enjoying resort amenities, also have an opportunity to discover the rich cultural history of this special place. ‘Anaeho‘omalu Bay was once home to a thriving system of fishponds, two of which, Ku‘uali‘i and Kahapapa, remain today and are part of the Waikoloa Anchialine Pond Preservation Area maintained by the University of Hawaii. Waikoloa Resort also serves as an access point for the Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail, a section of which runs along the Kohala Coast with public access from A-Bay to Spencer Beach Park.
