Before Mark and his wife Joy moved to Kona, he held a General Contractors license in California and operated a construction business. In 2003, Mark obtained his General Contractors license in Hawaii and has operated a Residential/Commercial remodeling business.
In 2010, Mark obtained his real estate sales license as a further development of his own skill set. "One thing that I have learned," he says, "is to always be developing yourself in whatever you do." Mark's goal is to provide his clients with the most information that is available when purchasing real estate. His construction and management background is an extra asset to his clients, as he understands the finer points of the details involved in building and renovating Hawaii properties.
Originally from the San Joaquin Valley of California, Mark grew up in farming. As a teen, he worked with his father, a construction superintendent, at job sites. Being the boss's son, he was assigned the most illustrious tasks: digging the power ditches and sweeping up the job sites on their projects. After graduation from college at Cal State Fresno, where his concentration was Business and Finance, Mark went to work in commercial construction management for a large telecommunication company in California. He spent the next twenty years in construction and real estate management, managing commercial projects across five states.
Mark notes that growing up on a farm provided him with another skill set that he has put to work here on the Big Island. He and his wife are growing and processing their own coffee. Kona coffee!
