Kalima has been exploring the Big Island since he could walk.

He has developed a deep respect for the natural splendor of Hawaii, thrives in nature and has enjoyed opportunities to work in forestry, adventure tourism and ranching. His understanding of the ‘aina has been enhanced by his enthusiasm for hiking, hunting, fishing, horseback riding and kayaking—all of which have helped him discover and learn about even the hardest to reach places throughout this diverse island.
