Recently I had the pleasure of selling the Big Island Country Club, one of Hawaii Island’s premier golf courses, when the previous owner, Moshe Silagi, transferred his interest to a joint venture of UNIVA Capital Group and OAK Capital, UNIVA Resort, LLC. For over 5 years I have been involved in fostering growth in the golf business at BICC and very much look forward to the upcoming development efforts as I continue in my role of General Manager and development consultant to the owners.
We are also glad that the new owners will continue with the planned development of the property into a family-oriented golf destination. Upon completion, the family friendly activities on-site will include a swimming pool, sports courts and space for large functions. Highway entrance improvements, dedicated water systems and other amenities will be installed shortly to support the new clubhouse and Phase 1 of the “upcountry” residential community.
