On April 10, Hamakua Harvest welcomes The Harmony People from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm for live entertainment while you shop and eat. For the educational guest, Hamakua Harvest is pleased to host "Seed Planting and Community Talk-Story" at the market for a follow-up to the Building Resilient Seed Systems for Hawaii event scheduled for the day before at North Hawaii Education and Research Center.

53rd Annual Merrie Monarch Festival Underway in Hilo 

Ho‘ike performances will take place on Wednesday, March 30th at 6pm at the Edith Kanakaʻole Stadium featuring dance and culture from around the Pacific. Wednesday evenings events are free to the public and no tickets are required. Thursday night competitors will peform hula kahiko and hula ʻauana for the coveted title of Miss Aloha Hula. Read More

Kona Coffee Cultural Festival Weekend Events 

According to the Kona Coffee Festival website, the Big Island's first coffee plantations were established in the mid-1800's and received international recognition as early as 1873 at the World's Fair in Vienna. Today, there are about 3,500 acres of land in Kona dedicated to coffee production. There are several events scheduled this weekend to wrap up the 2015 Kona Coffee Cultural Festival, including tonight's Lantern Parade and tomorrow's Ho‘olaule‘a at Keauhou Shopping Center. Taste of the Hawaiian Range is Friday, Oct. 9 at Waikoloa Beach Resort

Hamakua Harvest Farmers Market Grand Opening Set for Sunday, September 6 in Honoka'a 

Hamakua Harvest Farmers Market Grand Opening In the spring of 2014, we shared an announcement about plans to develop a regional agricultural hub project, Hamakua Harvest, in Honoka'a. Those plans are now a reality! The Big Island's newest farmers market, the Honoka'a Farmers Market, will celebrate its Grand Opening this Sunday, September 6, from 9am to 2pm at the intersection of Mamane St. and Hwy 19. There will be 20 vendors featuring locally grown and locally made products. Dennis Padilla & Friends will provide entertainment from 10 am to noon and there will be workshops for both adults and keiki.
