From tragedy comes the promise of saving the life of another.
Jennifer Davis, an agent in our Clark Realty Keauhou office, is turning a life-changing event into an annual celebration of life that benefits many people on the Big Island.
On July 4th, from 9:15 am to 3:45 pm, this community celebration in remembrance of her fiancé Elvis Sheppard will be held at the Sheraton Kona Resort ballroom in space donated by the hotel in support of this community cause.
Last year, in a matter of several weeks after his passing, Jennifer and several close friends put together the first Elvis Sheppard memorial blood drive the likes of which had never before been seen in Kailua Kona. Jen is working to make this an annual event coordinated with the Kona Community Hospital and the Blood Bank of Hawaii.
You are invited to join “The Dude Abides” party and donate too. There will be door prizes, a silent auction and fun activities. Giving blood to save another is such a simple process. There is no way to know when it might benefit a family member or friend. It is the right thing to do!
Additional blood drive days will be held at the LDS Kona Stake Center Cultural Hall on Thursday, July 5th 8:45 am -5:15 pm and Friday, July 6th 7:15 am -1:45 pm. To sign up and book an appointment call Crystal at Island CPR 808-326-7836 or go to Heart@IslandCPR.com
