In the 1950′s the people of Honokaa built a swimming pool using donated equipment and materials and labor. It has been one of the town’s great assets over the years, offering children and adults alike the opportunity to exercise, play or simply cool off in the water on a part of the island where there are no nearby beaches. The only obstacle to greater use was that at times the water was too cold.

The mission of the Center is to provide programs that emphasize leadership training, environmental stewardship, music, the visual arts and exploration of the many cultures represented in the community.
